How It Works

GoodSAMOnlineConsultation

The GoodSAM App connects those in need with those in the local community who have life saving skills to help until the emergency services arrive.

By alerting trained bystanders to local incidents, GoodSAM aims to prevent the irreparable brain and heart damage which all too frequently occurs during a cardiac arrest.

Today only 1 in 10 victims survive sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), but 5 in 10 could survive if bystanders gave CPR and uses AED’s immediately.

In A Medical Emergency Time Matters

Unfortunately, due to a number of challenges such as remote locations or road congestion, the average time for paramedics to arrive once 911 is called is eight to 12 minutes

There are, of course, thousands of people with such skills; off-duty doctors, nurses, police officers, first aiders are all "Good Samaritans" who are simply unaware of the emergency going on next door or outside their building. The Good SAM App uses technology that can notify these people so they can help the person in need.

GoodSAM Defibrillocator

The World's largest AED Registry:

The GoodSAM community has mapped over 40,000 Public Access AEDs. This is done by taking a picture of a fixed location AED (e.g. fixed to a wall) and uploading it through the App. The location of the AED is then checked and appears on our mapping system.

AEDs don't Save Lives - People with AEDs do:

Our vision is to see an AED in every neighborhood for nearby responders to use to provide help in less time.

But our team can't do it alone. We are looking for members of the community like you to help us cut response times to save lives in America's neighborhoods.

Calling all responders. Let’s fill the USA with Community Responders

The difference early CPR and defibrillation makes can be crucial - that's where you come in.

If you are trained in CPR, download the GoodSAM Responder App today. You'll then be alerted when you are in the immediate vicinity of a cardiac arrest, so that you can start CPR or basic first aid in the critical minutes before the emergency services arrive.

The GoodSAM platform is highly governed and secure, with checks to ensure that all Responders are CPR certified. Once verified, you'll join our network of community lifesavers.

What Are The Apps?

goodSamAlerter
The GoodSAM Alerter app uses locational services to track the location of a person in need of a help; after a call is triggered we know exactly where the person is located.
goodSAMResponder
The GoodSAM Responder app continuously sends locational updates to our server to allow the location of volunteer doctors/first-aiders to be tracked so they can be notified of any emergencies occurring around them.
